The European Commission is planning to reform EU seed marketing rules and is expected to present a legislative proposal by December 2022.
To assess the policy options it is currently considering, the EU Commission has launched a public consultation in which organizations and individuals in the EU and around the world can participate until March 27, 2022.
How to get involved:
First create an EU login (or via social media), then open the questionnaire!
1. Create EU login (or easier login via social media).
To participate in the survey, you need to create an "EU Login" (all you need is an email address, regardless of your nationality or residence):
- Access the EU login page by entering the following address in your browser: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/cas/login
- Click on "Create account" and enter the required information (first and last name, email address and language)
- Follow the link in the EU login confirmation email sent to the email account specified in the registration form (valid for a maximum of 1.5 hours) and create your password
2. Open the link to the questionnaire
- English: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/PRM-FRMSurvey2022?surveylanguage=en
The questionnaire consists of a general part with ten questions and another part with about 40 questions. One of the answers (agree - partly agree - disagree - no opinion) must be chosen in each case.
Many questions are ambivalent and often the answer can be interpreted in different ways. We could not express our opinion well enough with the help of the questions. We mentioned this issue in the 500-character free field.
We took the opportunity to upload the most important information in a two-page pdf attachment at the end of the questionnaire. Feel free to use it!
This is how we answered the first ten questions:
Definitely use the chance to upload an attachment at the end of the questionnaire! Here is our attachment
This works after ten questions as well as after 40 questions.

By the way
There was already a reform attempt in 2013. It failed in the European Parliament in 2016, also because many citizens had rejected the proposals. The commitment of the umbrella organization at that time is documented on this website.
